The Last Rose of Summer

If I were a poet, this would be a very poetic post. But, let's face it, I really lack that kind of skill. Still, I wanted to post this photo of our last rose.

And, while we are speaking of lasts, I believe this will be my final garden post for the year. Yes, savor it while you may.

We made delightful amounts of grape jelly from these. Grape juice stains. In case you were wondering.

And I finally got two beautiful ripe cantaloupes. They were about the size of my hand. But, they tasted divine and were just perfect for breakfasting.

We get to enjoy this for a while:

Now the summer is gone, the roses have finished, the garden is dead, and so ends this post.
